In December to be exact on December 7th each year many radio hosts talk about Pearl Harbor and the infamous Japanese attack that brought the United States into World War II. Little do most listeners today, myself included, know that this particular episode was much contended by politicians and the military. No, not if it took place, but how it took place.
And what the then President (Franklin D. Roosevelt) knew and how the American public was lead to believe that this attack came unexpected. The book The Final Secret of Pearl Harbor by Rear Admiral Robert A.Theobald USN, explains the complaints by the military leaders involved and gives his and their side of the story. Did “They know in Washington” or didn’t they know? Besides this obscure part in history I was most attracted to the cover of the book. Unfortunately, I do not know who the designer and the photographer were.
