From our bookshelf, it is a real anecdote! Yes, how many times do you think this happens. Years ago I bought an early English book called Londinum Triumphans (Wing G1412) by author William Gough (1654-1682). Gough was educated at Exeter College in Oxford, England, and is listed in the Dictionary of National Biography.
It is the original 1682 printing, rebound in contemporary calf, nicely done. Just the other day, I noticed it is now available as a newly printed paperback, and even as an ebook on Kindle. So to spur your curiosity, I decided to post the introduction showing the title and the fine old printing that I am sure you will not get in an e-book or in paperback. A sweet revenge in a “Democratic World“!
